April 7th

Today was the 158th annual Oxford Cambridge boat race. Since I found out about it a little late in the day, I didn't have time to commute to the river where the race was held. Instead, I met my friend Rachel at a pub nearby to watch the race. It was actually a really cool experience, the two boats were neck and neck. The oars from each boat collided, and one of Oxford's actually snapped off. At that point, Cambridge easily pulled ahead and won the race. I'm glad I saw it, but it was definitely different from an American boat race....which is a drinking game where two teams line up and chug beers. I think I prefer the American version.
